It was only ever going to be so long before we found ourselves drawn back into Guy Ritchie’s gangster filled Universe of The Gentlemen. And with a whole new story, new characters and new format as a Netflix streaming series, the director gave himself a lot to live up to. But with no loss of the wit, charisma or criminal bite that made the 2019 movie a smash hit, we can turn our attention to the more pressing matter of the shows, The Netflixs Gentlemen outfits.

Eddie Horniman – The New Duke of Halstead
Inspired by the Guy Ritchie movie The Gentlemen that came out in 2019, the new Netflix series plays out in the same universe. But the narrative has changed, as we see the haughty world of old-money aristocrats falling into the murky realm of Gangsters, with the new Duke of Halstead and Army Captain Eddie Horniman becoming their latest target.

The second son of the Horniman family, Eddie never expected to inherit the family estate, but with brother Freddy disinherited, for reasons we will get to, he doesn’t have a lot of choice in the matter.
Having made a name for himself in the Army, Eddie returns to his role as the Duke of Halstead, a simple man with a simple wardrobe of The Gentlemen outfits. Still favoring tough and resilient fabrics, even if they aren’t tweeds and heavy wool, Eddie’s mustard yellow button-up shirt made of a fine corduroy perfectly fits the bill.

Freddy Horniman – The Spare
It doesn’t come as much of a surprise, yet maybe it’s a bit hypocritical, that the late Duke of Halstead disinherited his oldest son in favor of the younger of his two boys. With Freddy’s drug problem, cocaine rather than cannabis, meaning he owes some very scary Scousers (Liverpool natives) a lot of money he is quickly working his way up his brothers list of problems.
Nothing like his successful brother, Freddy has been happy to live the life of luxury all off of his family’s name. Happily squandering money and business opportunities at every turn he took.
But with as quirky a selection of The Gentlemen outfits as personality traits, the lifelong squanderer plays up his family’s name and title, having lived a life of leisure. Filling his wardrobe with subtle luxuries like chunky knit sweaters and traditional suits, while his less discrete accessories shine. However where Daniel Ings, Freddy Horniman makes quite the impression is when he uses his madness to the families advantage. From the disturbing image of him snorting cocaine and touting a shotgun while going around dressed as a colorful cockriel, that we saw in the initial trailer, to his old and well worn robes.
It turns out that Freddy has never actually bothered to take the time to wonder where all the family money was coming from, instead only interested in spending it.
Not quite the smoking jackets one might have imagined of the once prodigal Duke of Halstead, instead Freddy fittingly looks like the impulsive, reckless, money squandering “liability” his father always assumed he was.

Lady Sabrina – The Matriarch
Things aren’t going well for the formidable Lady Sabrina, the Matriarch of the Horniman family, when we first meet her having just buried her beloved husband the late Duke of Halstead. But that was only a precursor to the troubles heading the family’s way.
With one son disinherited and the other now facing a life of crime as his fathers heir, it is just as well the Joely Richarson played mother isn’t quite as innocent as she might have you believe.
The epitome of the definition of a refined Lady of the Manor, Lady Sabrina’s The Gentlemen outfits play on the traditional ideas of country living. With a wardrobe full of classic tweed riding jackets and matching waistcoats, worn over simple white button-up shirts and delicate knit sweaters.
Sticking to neutrals, with dark and murky greens and browns for her outerwear Lady Sabrina knows exactly when to add in a bit of color to her looks. There is nothing more effortlessly stylish than a woman in charge wearing the perfect power-suit. And almost as if it was her superpower Susie Glass never puts a foot wrong when it comes to the fashionable look.
As intimidating as sophisticated, the wardrobe of the business mogul is full of perfectly tailored pieces. With every color and pattern included in her wardrobe, but none look more expensive than the indulgent light tan blazer that compliments actress Kaya Scodelario’s long dark hair and gold jewelry. Or the asymmetrical gray checked suit with its cinched in and belted waistline, matching checked overcoat and black designer accessories.

Well known as a powerful family in the drugs business, Susie doesn’t take no for an answer and has found working with aristocrats very successful, considering they are all cash poor but asset rich. Yet she didn’t reckon on having to come up against Eddie Horniman, the new Duke of Halstead anytime soon.
And is probably why for their first meeting she chose a laid back version of her luxury looks. Doing away with the powerful and intimidating suits that are her trademark look throughout the series, instead going for a simple yet expensive camel colored shearling overcoat and a homely knit patterned sweater.

Geoff Seacombe – The Gamekeeper
So when we told you earlier that The Gentlemen outfits weren’t all about tweed and flat caps, we obviously weren’t talking about Gamekeeper Geoff, whose whole look is based around the rough woolen fabric that screams old-money, country living.
But Geoff Seacombe isn’t just any Gamekeeper, he is the Halstead Manor Gamekeeper, and that means walking a very fine line between estate management and criminality.
Sticking to the typical outdoorsy fabrics and silhouettes that we would traditionally see on Gamekeepers and Lord’s of the Estate, Geoff has a wardrobe full of waxed jackets and tweed flat caps. Yet to reinforce the hard-man attitude brought to the role by actor Vinnie Jones, the wardrobe department went even further using resilient materials like corduroy in his more modern looks. Stanley “Uncle Stan” Johnston – The American
It probably wasn’t too much of a stretch of the imagination for Giancarlo Esposito when he was cast as Stanley Johnston in The Gentlemen.
“Uncle Stan” as the American is ironically called, is a classy and wealthy businessman who just happens to run a serious and substantial meth empire. A role that Giancarlo no doubt brought plenty of knowledge to from his turn as Gus Fring in Breaking Bad opposite meth producing Walter White.
But it is Stanley’s fascination with the elite, and rather selective world of British aristocracy that we can see playing-out through his The Gentlemen outfits. Imitating the lavish old-money lifestyle with his expertly tailored three-piece suits, shirts and ties, that are made of the finest silks and wools that money can buy. Accessorizing with only the best in luxury watches, pocket squares and designer ribbed sweaters slung casually over his shoulders.
From the trailer alone it was easy to see that Guy Ritchie was on to a winner, bringing back The Gentlemen’s universe that had so much potential and gave us style, sophistication and some juicy criminal action. But this time around it appears he might have gone one step further, pushing the story and the stylish The Gentlemen outfits right to the edge. The heady mix of modern and old-money will have you as desperate to see what Eddie Horiman and Susie Glass are wearing next, as it’ll have you wondering how much more “creative” Freddy can get in his questionable actions.
