How to create the Jason Voorhees costume
The bloody hockey mask, like the one worn by Jason Vorhees has been a hot selling prop for over 20 years during the Halloween season. Martin Jay Sadoff was the person responsible for the mask addition to Jason Vorhees’s costume in the third Friday the 13th film. During a lighting test on set during the filming no one wanted to put on makeup. Sadoff, who was the 3D effects supervisor of the film, tossed a hockey mask to the actor to wear and it gave the character that special look which sets one apart. It just worked very well for the character. From then on Jason Vorhees is seen in a hockey mask.
