Heath Ledger’s Joker is one of the most memorable characters of all time. One of the most chaotic moments of The Dark Knight is when the mad villain dresses up as a nurse to blow up a hospital… and it would make a great Halloween costume! Here’s how to create a terrifying Joker nurse costume.

If Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight (2008) has become a cult movie, it is largely thanks to the interpretation of Heath Ledger in the skin of the Joker. The actor offered an iconic portrayal of the homicidal villain. The character’s chaotic energy and disregard for human life makes him absolutely unpredictable, and also turned him into a fan-favorite. Costume designer Lindy Hemming even said she based the Joker on a rock star!

In the following, we will show you how to create a convincing Geoff look. Have fun!

One iconic scene is when the Joker disguises himself as a nurse to infiltrate a hospital, which he then blows up. It shows how truly unhinged this character can be. To replicate this costume, you will need a white nurse’s costume and a pair of white crocs. Add in a fake gun and a white face mask. You will also need to dye your hair green with some temporary hair color.

Joker Nurce Makeup

In this video, Alyson Tabbitha shows us how to recreate the Joker’s face makeup.

To recreate the Joker’s signature face, you will to paint your face all white. Don’t do it perfectly because the Joker’s makeup is chaotic. Make movements with the face so that the wrinkles stand out, then move on to the eyes. Draw two black circles around your eyes, then with black make-up add a lot of dark color above and under your eyes, completely covering your eyelids, staying inside the boundaries of the drawn dark circles. The final touch of Heath Ledger’s Joker makeup will be his terrifying smile, so paint your lips red and extend the color outside the corners of the lips, imitating where the character has those scars that make him look so creepy. Go all the way to the middle of the cheeks and make sure to really apply a lot of red to accentuate the wounds.

With this incredibly realistic make-up, the nurse costume, and of course the attitude you will bring, you’ll be ready to enjoy Halloween with this equally fun and terrifying Joker nurse costume!
