Wallpaper As Seen In I’m Thinking Of Ending Things
As seen in: I’m Thinking of Ending Things, Django Unchained
Designer: William Morris
Description
The film I’m Thinking of Ending Things is as psychological as it gets. One’s negative feelings of despair, anxiety, and hopelessness that usually end in death are artistically depicted in the movie.
Contrasting to the story is the wallpaper at Jake’s parents’ house. The Compton wallpaper shows tulips and poppies together in a pattern that is both feminine and beautiful. As they focus the camera on Lucy (Jessie Buckley), you couldn’t help but be attracted to the Compton wallpaper behind her. Her auburn hair blends with the russet flowers of the wallpaper.
Compton wallpapers were produced by Morris & Company in 1896 for Laurence Hodson’s Compton Hall in Wolverhampton. Designed by John Henry Dearle, they can be a show stealer with the lively yet somehow not overwhelming colors in as a background. This may be due to the use of distemper colors (whitewash) on block printing.
Are you the type who likes their wallpaper installed on one wall as an accent? Or are you the type who prefers to have it in your whole room? Either way, the Compton wallpaper is sure to add depth and focus to your interior.
To help you decide, you may order a sample swatch to verify the actual print and color.
