Magic Mike’s Last Dance and it’s Surprisingly High-Fashion Outfits

It was all the way back in 2012 that the world was first introduced to Mike Lane, the male stripper better known as Magic Mike. However after spawning a sequel, a television show and more than one live stage version it seemed that the Magic Mike franchise might have had its day.

But it turned out that Mike had one last dance in him, and one last killer wardrobe to send us off with.

Official trailer for Magic Mike’s Last Dance.

Not receiving the reviews that director Steven Soderbergh and star Channing Tatum were hoping for, it seems that Magic Mike leaving Florida and moving across the pond to stage a show in London, didn’t get the audience all hot under the collar. Yet nobody can deny that the Magic Mike’s Last Dance outfits ticked all the boxes. Especially when you consider that Maxandra Mendoza might be the most stylish addition to any movie, ever.

His name might be in the title, and this might be his third outing showing off his steamy dance moves, but Magic Mike’s Last Dance isn’t about Mike Lane. Even if he does have some seriously killer looks, as we will see later on. This time around it is all about Salma Hayek Pinault’s and her Max Mendoza luxury wardrobe.

That Moment: Max Mendoza’s Vibrant Pink Cape Jumpsuit in Magic Mike’s Last Dance

When Max and Mike meet in Miami for the first time he helps her to escape her life, if only for a moment, like she has been so desperately craving. Magic Mike’s Last Dance, Warner Bros. Pictures.

There might actually only be one thing better than getting a private dance from Magic Mike himself, and that would be getting that lap dance while wearing Max’s vibrant fuschia jumpsuit. Originally seen with a short chiffon cape, over her shoulders, as she questions Mike about his career as a bartender. The erotic removal of the flimsy layer reveals the jumpsuit’s full prowess. With its form fitting silhouette and plunging, halter v-neckline, above a perfectly cinched in waist.

With the cape expertly removed by Magic Mike, the full glory of the jumpsuit can be seen, along with Max’s gold Aquazurra heels that get plenty of time on screen.

It is no surprise that when Max Mendoza sets her mind to staging her new female empowering dance show at the Rattigan theater, that she knows exactly how to dress the part. Putting her own twist on formal business attire, her powerful Magic Mike’s Last Dance outfits are all sleek, statement designer pieces. Just like her split-shoulder, black Alexander McQueen Blazer, with its satin lapels and extravagant, striking lace train.

A well styled, and expertly worn hat might just be the sign of a powerful woman, if you were to believe Max and Ted Lasso’s, Rebecca Welton’s designer stuffed wardrobes. But with Rebecca having as many hats as soccer players, Max instead keeps it more simple with her luxury Stephen Jones black felt fedora. That pairs flawlessly with her splash of sultry scarlett red lipstick.

As Max and Mike start to audition dancers for their new stage show, Max tailors her Magic Mike’s Last Dance outfits to better fit the scenario she is in. Stepping away from the power and formal feel of blazers. Instead she reflects the relaxed comfort of the potential dancers with a more street-style 80’s inspired cropped puffer jacket from Chanel. Featuring a statement black leather look with contrasting white trim.

Just as she tells Mike when she gives him a Pretty Woman makeover, Max knows that you have to look the part when you are moving in the high-fashion and high society circles that she is. Never anything less than perfectly dressed, in her endless list of flawless designer garments, Max ups the fashion stakes with two beautiful, and bold abstract patterned evening gowns. With the delicate chiffon Chanel halter neck, more than a worthy fashion moment for the new passion filled Max Mendoza.

Mike Lane’s Magic Mike’s Last Dance Outfits

The joke might always have been “what clothes does Magic Mike actually need” but the male stripper come carpenter, who’s getting back into the game reluctantly, has plenty of removable pieces to talk about. And we did promise you some killer looks, and that’s exactly what his Magic Mike’s Last Dance outfits are giving, with their grown-up, high-fashion sophistication.

Swept off his feet by Max Mendoza, after meeting in Miami, Mike takes up her job offer to stage a show in London. But will he be willing to take to the stage for one last dance? Magic Mike’s Last Dance, Warner Bros. Pictures.

Initially sticking with his relaxed and casual style of hoodies (check out our list of television and films most iconic ones here), baggy pants and trusty Carhartt denim jacket, with its oversized silhouette and acid washed coloring, Mike looks every inch the skilled dancer we have come to know him as. However simple and effortless, it isn’t long before his basic t-shirts, chunky boots and denim needs a London upgrade.

We find Mike Lane and his Magic Mike’s Last Dance outfits starting from where he left off in the previous movie, relaxed, casual and effortlessly cool. With that suave edge we have come to love him for, his Article One athletic Park sunglasses with their sleek and unobtrusive frames, are exactly what we would expect to see him wearing.

Luxury Monochrome: Mike’s Black Parka and Luxe Hoodie in Magic Mike’s Last Dance

Not willing to give up everything that makes him the person he is, including his perfect Magic Mike’s Last Dance outfits, he instead focuses on creating a more polished grown-up version of Mike Lane. Gone are the slouchy hoodies, in many shades and colors, as well as his informal Carhartt denim jacket. Replaced instead with all black luxury parkas and fitted designer hoodies, from brands like The Row.

Mostly known for taking his clothes off, Mike makes quite the impression when he keeps them on and slips into a little bit of luxury Tom Ford. Magic Mike’s Last Dance, Warner Bros. Pictures.

In a gender role-reversal to Julia Roberts star making turn in Pretty Woman, Magic Mike’s Last Dance thought it was about time a powerful, female socialite paid for the shopping spree. With Max Mendoza more than happy to foot the bill to get Tampa boy, Mike Lane dressed for London society. Happily benefitting from Mike in his exquisite Tom Ford subtly checked, tailored two-piece suit, when she needs a plus-one to dine with her frenemies.

It might be his name in the movie’s title, as well as being the third time that audiences have flocked to the cinema to see his steamy and death defying dance moves, but this time it’s actually all about the Magic Mike’s Last Dance outfits. There’s still plenty of dancing, and some temperature raising moments, but nobody can deny that costume designer Christopher Peterson has out done himself.

Especially when it comes to Max Mendoza, who it is almost impossible to take your eyes off of.
