Dress Up Like Jesse Pinkman from Breaking Bad
If you are looking for a good Jesse Pinkman costume for Halloween or a big cosplay event, here’s the winning formula for creating the most exciting outfit of the party! Let’s see how to dress up as Jesse Pinkman from Breaking Bad.
Outfit Guide For COSPLAY & HALLOWEEN
Jesse Pinkman is Walter White’s easily manipulated acolyte in Breaking Bad. His distinctive look and sweet personality have made him a fan-favorite over the course of the show. A Jesse Pinkman costume would be a very original ensemble for Halloween!
While Walt often treats Jesse like a stupid kid who constantly needs harsh treatment, they have a deep bond of loyalty. Like Walt, Jesse is horrified by the brutality of the upper levels of the drug trade, but he does what he thinks is necessary. He struggles with feelings of guilt and sadness over the deaths that result from his and Walt’s crimes, especially those of his girlfriends Jane Margolis and Andrea Cantillo.
As the series progresses, Jesse becomes increasingly troubled and sympathetic, while Walt becomes more ruthless and violent. Jesse’s empathetic personality and morality ultimately redeem him in the viewers’ eyes.
Jesse’s signature look was created by the series’ costume designer, Kathleen Detoro.

In the following, we will show you how to create a convincing Jesse Pinkman look. Have fun!
Jesse Pinkman: Style Evolution
Jesse’s style has changed through the Seasons, reflecting the character’s growth and development. Here are brief explanations for each season.
Season 1
In season one, Jesse is dressed in what can be described as “Urban Wear,” fitting for a young, uneducated drug dealer. He is seen wearing oversized hoodies and baggy clothes, reflecting his status as a lower-class individual.
Season 2
As the show progresses, we see Jesse’s style evolve. In season two, he develops a new, more mature streetwear aesthetic, distancing himself from his previous grunge look. He starts to experiment with bolder, more unique pieces, such as clothing featuring intertwined dragons spitting blue fire. (this is the outfit we’ll use for the costume)
Season 3
Season three sees Jesse’s style take a more serious turn, as he emerges from rehab with a newfound sense of maturity. He begins to wear thicker, more resistant polyester jackets, signaling a change in his approach to the world.
Season 4
In season four, Jesse’s style becomes slimmer and darker, reflecting his growing maturity and newfound sense of responsibility. He also becomes the first character to wear skinny jeans, a fashion choice that would become associated with the character.
Season 5
Finally, in season five, Jesse’s style becomes more rugged and distressed, reflecting his experiences and the trauma he has been through. He is seen wearing flannel shirts and patched jeans, signaling a more rugged and street-wise look.
Getting Jesse Pinkman’s Yellow & Black Outfit
We are going to recreate the outfit from the Season 2, where Detoro enjoyed Pinkman’s look with his large size clothes and all the beanies!
To dress up as Jesse, you will need baggy jeans held up by a black belt, an oversized t-shirt, as well as a green beanie and skater shoes. Replicate his cooking outfit by putting on a yellow hoodie and a gas mask. Make the costume more realistic by carrying around some test tubes and a cooking license with Jesse’s name on it!
To make your costume look more realistic, you can use a makeup sponge and some dark eyeshadow to recreate Jesse’s facial hair. A good idea would be to also use a black eyeliner pen to draw on Jesse’s tattoos, notably the shape on his right forearm. With this Jesse Pinkman costume, you’ll be the star of the party this Halloween!
