Cowboy costumes are some of the most popular costumes for the young and old alike and have been for a very long time. Cowboy costumes range from True Grit cowboys to Ghetto Cowboys, from Toy Story cowboys to Space Cowboys, and many other cowboys in between including the blood splattered, young, hunk of a cowboy, Kirk from The Forever Purge.
Kirk is a cowboy who leads a gang of masked killers as they target a wealthy ranch owner and his family during the Forever Purge of 2049 in the 2021 action horror film The Forever Purge. Costume designer, Leah Butler has Kirk dressed primarily in black and he is seen covered in blood splatters during much of his time on screen before he is gunned down. Here is what the costume designer Leah Butler says:
It felt like an amazing apocalyptic Western film with the clothing. What inspired you for some of the looks?
“I did so much research for the cattleman and the ranch hands. We wanted the looks to be an extension of what they actually would be wearing. We didn’t want it to be a big departure but we wanted it to be something that when you look at it, it’s scary. There was a variety of jackets, masks, and dusters. It added to the whole look and feel of it.“HorrorNews
