The lonely Edward Scissorhands is found living in a gothic mansion by a friendly Avon door to door saleswoman who takes him home to live with her family.
Costume Designer, Colleen Atwood, and Special Makeup Effects Creator, Stan Winston were responsible for the unique look of Edward Scissorhands.

How to create your version of the Edwars Scissorhands costume?
You’ll need a black long sleeve shirt, black combat boots and a pair of gothic punk style black pants with rings and chains attached. Add some black belts or a body harness with buckles and rings as well. You’ll need to have a black messy wig and some stage makeup to achieve the pale face and multiple facial scars. Finally, a pair of costume gloves with articulated fingers or the craftier person may choose a homemade pair of gloves resembling the hands of Edward.
